i realize i havent been on DA for a good long while. truth of the matter? im busy as hell. always doing something, always got a task, always have an issue and by the end of the day im either A. way too fucking drunk to remember my passwords or B. already passed out. so a quick update, not much new. with my occupation it's like being stuck in time living under a rock as you watch your friends carry on with life, which to be honest: causes issues that make you hate yourself. been constantly tasked to do something (can honestly say first time ive ever been tasked with "gaurding" bouncy houses), purchased a vehicle that ive begun to hate (first month ive had it got a speeding ticket for 100+mph and had to be towed 4 times due to mechanical issues) most recently had the transmission go belly up on me (which in a standard 5 spd really impresses me) and so might have some more updates there by the end of the year (either see pictures of a car on fire or a car that i've done some work on to be nice and peppy) other than that? really not a whole lot i can say. balls already rolling on the car. saving up for a donor car that'll turn out a few surprises

so my last netbook spontaneously combusted in my lap a while back (what you get for buying a refurbished p.o.s in a san diego store you know nothing about for dirt cheap). found myself forking out 1300 for a new laptop that im plenty happy with. pretty sure for the price I paid i wont be having any issues. lets see. . . little bit of drama (thought i had avoided it altogether and wasn't going to see the b.s again), a few new credentials (about half of them in the works). getting a little bit of crap for using "big words" and randomly having the definition for random words few people so much as think about (sorta happens when my previous shop foreman before enlistment got fed up to the point he required me to have a definition ready for every word that flew from my mouth. it all started with the word gesticulate. and yes it is a word) though all seems to be in good humor. new tattoo, even though people give me crap for it (most of it's people saying HIMARS doesn't qualify as a "gun bunny" even though my primary is cannon crewman). still taking everything as a personal challenge including my fathers progress (been getting in shape fast as hell). made a few friends, made some enemies (your never going to please everyone so i have no reason to give two fucks) all in all its a rather dull life for now.

So I'm no longer stuck in Oklahoma for training. Though so many awesome things have happened since my last update. I've been trained to operate a 9840 lb weapon. . . and I've also been trained for high mobility artillery rocket systems ( flip switch, launch explosive telephone pole, wait about 15 seconds and there's nothing left of the bad guys). Managed to graduate both classes with honors (GPA of 98.4 in one class and 100 in another) which means promotions. . . went from E1 pay grade all the way up to E3 in less than a month (roughly 1000 a month to about 1800 a month). . .now stationed somewhere in the west coast enjoying the company of my Amazing NCO's (sarcasm if you couldnt tell) already been told I'm a sack of shit but if you know me well enough you'd know that quickly became a personal challenge. Someone called me weak. . . made it a point to always be front of the pack for PT. . . called me disorganized and unprepared. . . I now carry two notepads and 3 pens at any given time the list goes on. Life is well so far. All I have to say

    so we had our anual ball this last weekend. went solo like oh so many others though met several of the wifes, girlfriends ect. of the marines i work alongside (strangely enough i didnt run into my roommate or his wife. . . still trying to wrap my head around how i missed that one) ceremony was an awesome experience and loved what the guest speaker had to say. the first person ive seen that fearlessly explained to marines and civillians alike that our business is death (may seem grim to some but keep in mind we all have family, friends and loved ones that are more than worth fighting for). left the ball though after the ceremony had ended and i had eaten some food only thing left to do was dance and either get wasted and make a fool of myself or sit and watch people embarrass themselves (though based on how the night ended i was better off just staying and drinking the night away. only time of the year im really comfortable allowing myself to drink) long story for the rest of the night i found myself broke and without my phone going home with nothing to show for the night aside from regrets i choose not to delve into. i came back to the battery just in time to sit in a crowd of people with mass ammounts of alcohol on their breath (had to hold the guy to the right of me up in formation while convincing the guy to my right that pissing on the guy in front of him wasnt a good idea all the while hoping to god a fight didnt break out due to all the bullshit yelling). fun stuff. . . next year should end up much better.
